Hit-and-Run Involving Stolen Motorcycle: Newcastle Police Seizes Suspected Vehicle

A stolen motorcycle suspected to have been involved in a hit-and-run that left a three-year-old boy injured has been seized by police. The incident occurred on Kingsway in the Fenham area of Newcastle shortly before 8.15pm on June 20.

According to reports, the boy was crossing the road when he was struck by the motorbike, which had a male rider and a male pillion passenger. The pillion passenger was thrown from the bike during the collision, and both the rider and passenger fled the scene.

The young boy sustained a broken arm and bruising to his body and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, he has since been released.

Sergeant Dave Roberts of Northumbria Police stated, “We are continuing our efforts to better understand the circumstances around this incident, where a young boy was sadly hurt. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has any information about the stolen motorbike, as we believe this could prove crucial in our investigations.”

The stolen motorbike was reported as stolen from an address in the Wessington Way area of Sunderland on May 11. Authorities urge anyone with information about the vehicle, from its theft to the date of the collision, to come forward. You can contact the police online or call 101
