The incident occurred on the southbound carriageway of Medina Way and was reported to the authorities at 11:22 am on April 10. The collision involved multiple vehicles, including a red Honda Civic, blue BMW X5, a black Kia Sorrento, and grey Nissan Qashqai. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Notably, the Honda Civic involved in the collision had been reported stolen earlier that day. The theft occurred between 7:30 am and 11 am from the car park of Lushington Garden Centre.

In connection with the incident, a 25-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of various offences, including taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and drink driving. He remains in custody pending further investigation.

The police are eager to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage that may assist with their investigation. In particular, they are keen to hear from individuals who may have observed any of the vehicles involved travelling on Fairlee Road, Coppins Bridge, or Medina Way before the collision.
