This recently purchased a phone charger from a local store, and it caught fire yesterday. Fortunately, we were home, and my daughter was sitting next to it, so we dealt with it within 30 seconds. God only knows what would have happened if they had been out or at night. The shop was fine and concerned, and they gave me a refund. I asked them to notify everyone who had brought one. They said they would, and I’m confident they will. But I wanted to share it in case people weren’t aware of it, because the consequences could be devastating if you get a bad one. To be clear, this is not a negative post about the shop; I’ve used them frequently recently and will continue to support local businesses like them. Of course, they must stop selling them. Which I am confident they will. So, if you have one, be cautious because mine was not an isolated case. I’m sure the buyers will be contacted, as I previously stated, but I didn’t want to rely on that when the outcome could be so serious.
