Fire rips through Garden Shed in New Romney

Firefighters are dealing with a fire believed to have started with a garden shed catching alight, which then spread to the adjoining bungalow in Dunes Road, Greatstone, near New Romney. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the blaze using a combination of a main jet, a high-pressure hose reel jet and a compressed air foam jet. There are no reports of any injuries and the British Red Cross support team has been mobilised to assist the occupiers. UPDATE Crews made good progress in stopping the fire spreading and had extinguished the flames by 9.25pm. UK Power Networks engineers have been called to isolate the electricity supply in the shed
