Fatal stabbing near Clapham Common time station

A man in his 40s has been stabbed to death close to Clapham Common Tube station in south London this afternoon. Police are at scene after man stabbed outside Clapham tube whilst crossing the road. Officers are working to establish what happened. Road closures have been put in place, which may affect drivers whilst officers investigate. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes. A Crime scene is in place. A spokesman for the Met said: Police were called at 2.37pm on Friday, 29 March following reports of a stabbing on Clapham Park Road, close to Clapham Common tube station. Officers attended with London Ambulance Service colleagues. A man aged in his 40s was found suffering from stab wounds. Despite the efforts of paramedics he sadly died at the scene. The victim’s next of kin have not yet been informed. Police are working to establish the circumstances. At this early stage there have been no arrests. The Homicide and Major Crime Command are aware. A crime scene is in place. Road closures have been put in place, which may affect drivers whilst officers investigate. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
