A tragic incident occurred on Merantun Way in Merton this Sunday, where a car collided with two pedestrians and then struck a lamp post, impacting two additional pedestrians. The accident, reported to police around 28 July, has resulted in one fatality and injuries to three others.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, were promptly at the scene. Despite the swift response and efforts of the paramedics, one of the pedestrians struck by the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The other three individuals involved received medical treatment on-site.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the collision. The circumstances leading up to the accident are still under investigation by local authorities.
