A Spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Blackfriars underground station at around 1.45pm today (9 October) to reports of a suspicious package on fire. London Fire Brigade attended along with officers. The station was evacuated and cordoned off as a precaution, the item was deemed to be non-suspicious and the station will shortly be re-opened. Enquiries are ongoing.”
