Early morning collision sees driver cut free in Widley

An early morning collision in Widley near Portsmouth called on the firefighters with specialists cutting equipment to free those trapped. Crews from Hampshire fire and rescue service stationed at Cosham extricated the female casualty by full roof removal to free the driver who was medically trapped. Crews used powerful cutters to remove the roof. The casualty was than lifted into a spinal board and immobilised. The woman was them left in the care of South central ambulance. She has since been taken to QA hospital in Portsmouth.
