In the aftermath of a disturbing incident in Liverpool city centre on 27 December, five men now face charges related to an assault that left a 21-year-old man with life-threatening injuries due to stabbing.
Cameron Quinn, 21, from Huyton, is charged with violent disorder, Section 18 wounding, and possession of an offensive weapon. Alongside him, Milne Critchley, 20, of Anfield, faces charges of violent disorder. Luke Bowland, 21, from Wavertree, and Adam Draper, 21, from Huyton, are also charged with violent disorder. George Miller, 20, with no fixed abode, completes the list of those charged with violent disorder.
All five individuals are set to appear before Liverpool and Knowsley Magistrates Court on the upcoming Saturday, 5 January.
The incident unfolded at around 05:30 GMT on December 27, when patrols discovered a 21-year-old man at the junction of Church Street and Whitechapel with stab wounds to his chest. He remains hospitalised in a critical but stable condition.
A second victim, also 21 years old, suffered a stab wound to the back but is now stable and recovering at home. A third individual, aged 23, sustained a head laceration believed to be caused by a bottle or glass, and he too is recovering at home. Following investigations, a fourth man, aged 20, was identified with lacerations to his head and is recovering at home.
On Tuesday, January 2, French authorities in Calais detained four men, who have since been extradited to Merseyside Police.
