Dartford Residents Urged to Check Gardens and Sheds in Ongoing Search for Missing Man

Residents in Dartford are being urged to check gardens, sheds, garages, and outbuildings as the search intensifies for Wayne Parchment, a 61-year-old man who has now been missing for five days.

Wayne was last seen by a relative in the Spital Street area on the morning of Thursday, 10 April 2025. The next confirmed sighting came the following day, when CCTV footage showed him entering Central Park from Market Street at 9:46am, walking near the bandstand.

Increasing Concern

Chief Inspector Lee Cheesman, leading the search effort, expressed growing concern for Wayne’s welfare.

“Wayne has been missing now for five days and we are growing increasingly concerned. We have specialist teams, assisted by the National Police Air Service and Kent Search and Rescue volunteers, making extensive checks in and around Central Park, including Brooklands Lake,” he said.
“We are now urging people living close to the park, including those in the nearby Tree Estate, to please check any outbuildings and gardens in case Wayne may have sought shelter.”

Description

Wayne is described as:

  • Mixed race
  • Around 6ft tall
  • Bald, with a grey, short beard and moustache
  • May be wearing:
    • Black jogging bottoms
    • Grey top
    • Dark blue jacket
    • Black shoes
  • Often wears a lanyard around his neck with two keys attached
  • May walk with a shuffle
  • Known to frequent areas in Dartford, including Lowfield Street and Princes Road

Public Appeal

The public is being asked to remain vigilant and check any potential places of shelter on their property.

Anyone who sees Wayne or has any information that could assist in locating him is asked to call 999 immediately, quoting reference 12-0856.
