Coastguard Rescue helicopter scrambled to St Mary’s Hospital

The coastguard search and rescue helicopter rescue 175 has been scrambled to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport to carry out a medical transfer of a sick patient to Southampton this evening. The rescue helicopter based at Lee on the Solent flew over just before sunset to carry out the transfer. With the patient stabilised they were flown to the Southampton land site at Lordshikl to be met by The Southampton coastguard CRT team were a transfer was made to an awaiting ambulance for the short journey to Southampton General Hospitial. The helicopter once it’s tadking was completed returned to it base. More to follow
