Drivers using the M2 motorway are being warned of significant delays as queues are building up following a vehicle fire on the coastbound carriageway between Sittingbourne and Faversham.

Reports have confirmed that a coach caught fire on the busy road, leading to the traffic being slow-moving and causing disruption for motorists. National Highways has alerted drivers to possible delays of up to 65 minutes in the affected area, with traffic currently at a standstill.

KCC Highways issued a statement advising commuters to expect slow-moving traffic between Junction 5 (Stockbury) and Junction 7 (Brenley Corner) on the coastbound side of the M2. They urged drivers to allow extra time for their journeys due to the ongoing incident.

As emergency services and authorities work to address the situation and clear the affected area, motorists are advised to stay updated on the traffic conditions and consider alternative routes if possible.
