Emergency services have successfully extinguished a caravan fire that broke out this afternoon at Cranham Square in Marden, near Tonbridge, Kent.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that three fire engines were dispatched to the scene following reports of a caravan alight, with thick smoke visible from surrounding areas. Firefighters arrived promptly and used main hose jets and breathing apparatus to bring the blaze under control.

Residents Urged to Close Windows During Incident

As a precaution, fire crews had earlier urged nearby residents and travellers to keep windows and doors closed to avoid inhaling smoke. The warning was issued at around 1:08pm on Tuesday, April 29, and remained in place while operations were ongoing.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed in a final update issued at 3:30pm:

“Firefighting operations have now finished at Cranham Square in Marden. Crews have extinguished the flames using main jets. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.”

No Casualties Reported

Authorities confirmed there were no injuries as a result of the fire, and the cause of the blaze has not yet been disclosed. Investigators may return to the site to assess the damage and determine what sparked the incident.
