Bromley Drug Dealer Jailed After Police Seize Phones, Cash, and Drugs

Malik Hutchinson, 21, from Highland Road, Bromley, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of multiple drug-related offences. The sentencing took place at Canterbury Crown Court following an investigation that linked Hutchinson to a drug supply network operating in Ashford and Folkestone.

Police identified telephone numbers used in May and June 2024 to send bulk messages to drug users in these areas. Investigators were able to connect these numbers to Hutchinson, who was subsequently arrested in London.

During his arrest, officers recovered a quantity of cocaine and cannabis, along with drug paraphernalia. They also seized multiple mobile phones and a bag containing approximately £3,000 in cash.

Hutchinson was charged on Wednesday, 12 June 2024, and pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin as well as possession with intent to supply a Class A drug. He was sentenced on Thursday, 5 September 2024.

Detective Constable Martin Aird commented: “Drugs misuse and the knock-on negative effects of substance addiction, which can ripple out through communities, bring misery to people’s lives. The dealers are the root of the problem, and we are sending out a clear message to them that their criminal activities will not be tolerated.”

The case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to tackle drug-related crime and the devastating impact it has on local communities.
