The British Transport Police (BTP) have today released images of two women believed to have information regarding an assault that occurred on board a train between Carshalton and Victoria Railway Stations. The incident took place at approximately 6.45pm on Monday, 24 April, as the train approached Mitcham Eastfields.
According to reports, a young boy, estimated to be around eight years old, was subjected to three punches directed at his shoulder. The assault is said to have been carried out by one of the two women who were accompanying the child during the journey.
The BTP is now urging members of the public with any relevant information to come forward and help with their ongoing investigation. The released images of the two women are being circulated in the hope that someone may be able to identify or provide information about their whereabouts or connections.
Officers have emphasised that any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could potentially prove invaluable in progressing their investigation. Therefore, they are urging potential witnesses or anyone who may have seen or heard anything concerning the incident to contact the BTP immediately.
