Body Recovered from River Thames Identified as Abdul Ezedi

Authorities have formally identified the body recovered from the River Thames on Monday, February 19, as Abdul Ezedi.

Following a post-mortem examination conducted at Poplar Mortuary on Wednesday, February 21, it was confirmed that Abdul’s cause of death was drowning. His formal identification was completed the following day, on Thursday, February 22.

Abdul’s family has been notified of this tragic development, and support is being provided to them during this difficult time.

A file will now be submitted to the coroner as part of the ongoing investigation into Abdul’s death.

Commander Jon Savell stated, “We have worked diligently to formally identify Ezedi as quickly as possible. As our inquiries into this tragic incident continue, our thoughts remain with Abdul’s family and loved ones.”

He added, “The 31-year-old woman involved in the incident is still hospitalized, and while her condition has stabilized, she is not yet in a position to communicate with authorities. We are closely monitoring her recovery and hope to speak with her as soon as she is well enough.
