Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Rohan Trotman in Peckham have made an arrest. A 19-year-old man was apprehended in Kent on Thursday, July 6, on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.
The incident occurred on Sunday, June 25, at Nunhead Green, near the junction with Gordon Road, SE15. Police were called to the scene at 21:20hrs following reports of a stabbing. Rohan Trotman, 26, had sustained stab wounds and was transported to the hospital by a member of the public. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he tragically succumbed to his injuries at 09:30 on Monday, June 26. Rohan’s next of kin are receiving support from specially trained officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Laurence Smith, from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, expressed the devastating impact of Rohan’s death on his family and friends. He urged members of the community who have information regarding the circumstances of the fatal stabbing to come forward and assist the investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Smith also appealed to anyone who was in the area of Nunhead Green at around 21:20 on June 25 to report any details they may have witnessed, as it could prove vital to the ongoing investigation.
