Appeal for Witnesses After Children Kidnapped in Banbury
Sussex Police Respond to Possible Firearm Incident in Eastbourne

Thames Valley Police is urgently seeking witnesses following a kidnapping incident in Banbury. Between 21:00 and 23:00 on Saturday (June 8), a woman was assaulted, and her two children were forcibly taken from her between the Ruscote Arcade and Ruscote Park.

The abducted children have been safely secured and remain unharmed. Subsequently, at approximately 22:05 the perpetrators attempted to break into a property in Ruscote Arcade by kicking the door and attempting to smash a window.

Three individuals—two men aged 58 and 38, along with a 35-year-old woman—all from Banbury, have been arrested in connection with these incidents. They have been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.

Detective Constable Bryn Smith, from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, emphasised that these were targeted incidents and pose no threat to the wider public. He urged anyone who witnessed these events or has relevant CCTV or dash-cam footage to come forward and assist the investigation.
