Altercation in Stokenchurch Leads to Seven Arrests

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an affray which led to seven people being arrested.

At about 1.10am today (21/7), officers received reports of an altercation involving a large group in the High Street, Stokenchurch, which had led to a number of people being injured, sustaining minor stab wounds.

Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and began an investigation.

Some of those injured required hospital treatment, but their wounds are not believed to be serious.

Seven people have been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Superintendent Euan Livingstone, of the Buckinghamshire Local Command Unit, said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we are working to establish exactly what took place.

“I understand that people in the area might be concerned to hear this news today, but I’d like to reassure them that we’ve made a number of arrests in connection with this incident, and that we don’t believe there is any threat to the wider community.

“If you are out and about in Stokenchurch or the surrounding area today, you will notice an increased police presence while we continue our investigation.
