West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 8.58am to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Witton Lane, Aston in Birmingham. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival, we found a woman who was the pedestrian.
“She was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained life-threatening injuries.
“She received advanced life support and advanced trauma care from ambulance staff at the scene.
“She was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital under emergency blue light conditions with a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic travelling on board for continued treatment en route.”
“No further patients required treatment from ambulance staff.”
