50 year old man arrested over Tooting killing

Detectives investigating the murder of a 50-year-old man in Tooting have made an arrest. A 47-year-old man was arrested on Friday, 4 May on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station. Police were called at approximately 14:45hrs on Monday, 26 March, to a residential address in Tooting High Street, SW17, following concerns for the welfare of a resident. Officers forced entry at 15:12hrs and found the body of 50-year-old David Potter from Tooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination at St George’s Hospital on Wednesday, 28 March, gave the cause of death as an incised wound to the neck. Detectives previously arrested a 44-year-old man in Tooting on Wednesday, 28 March on suspicion of murder. He has since been released under investigation.
