A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life in critical condition after a shooting occurred early Saturday morning. The incident, which has left the community shocked and in distress, took place in the 2700 block of West Van Buren Street in Chicago

According to police, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area. Upon arriving at the scene just before 06.00., they discovered the young victim with two gunshot wounds to the head.

Emergency medical services were immediately called, and the boy was rushed to Stroger Hospital for immediate medical attention. As of now, he remains in critical condition and under intensive care as medical professionals work tirelessly to stabilise his condition.

Police are actively investigating the incident to gather crucial evidence and lead that may help identify the assailant responsible for this tragic act. As of now, no one is in custody in connection with the shooting.
