A tragic incident in Uckfield has claimed the life of a 105-year-old man after he was struck by a car while crossing the road in his mobility scooter.
Details of the Incident
The collision occurred on Saturday, 5 April, at approximately 1:44 pm on the B2102 Bell Farm Road, just east of the junction with Brookside. The elderly man was attempting to cross the road on his mobility scooter when he was hit by a blue Ford KA.
Emergency services, including paramedics and police, rushed to the scene. Despite their best efforts to save him, the man, a local resident from Uckfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Driver Uninjured
The driver of the Ford KA, an 87-year-old woman from Ringmer, was not injured in the incident. Police have not reported any arrests at this stage, and the investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
