Portchester Dog Charity Wins £5K Awards

A Portchester-based animal charity has received £5,000 in funding from the biggest financial pet rescue supporter in the UK. German Shepherd Rescue South has been given the money from Support Adoption For Pets (SAFP), to go towards paying for vet bills and kennel costs. The local charity rescues and rehomes unwanted, abused and stray German Shepherds throughout the UK and is run entirely by volunteers, relying on donations. Amy Wilson, fundraising manager at SAFP – established by Pets at Home in 2006 – said, “It is a real privilege to help an organisation that works so hard to care for and rehome German Shepherd dogs in need. They are doing a superb job, and the effort the rescue puts in is an inspiration.”
