STALKING HIS EX Horley Man Jailed for Stalking and Threatening Ex with Knife

Todd Hamilton-Forbes, 43, has been locked up for a year after pleading guilty to controlling and coercive behaviour against his ex-partner. He also received a five-year restraining order to keep him away from the victim.

Knife Threat Sparks Police Call-Out

The ordeal came to a head on 7 August 2025 when Hamilton-Forbes turned up at his ex’s home armed with a knife. Police were called, and during the investigation, the victim revealed a disturbing pattern of abuse spanning eight months.

Obsessive Stalking: 107 Calls in 5 Days

Hamilton-Forbes didn’t just threaten violence—he stalked his victim relentlessly. He forced her to report her every move and bombarded her with 107 phone calls in just five days. Previous restraining orders had expired, allowing his nightmare to continue.

Police Praise Victim’s Courage, Urge Others to Speak Out

“I would like to recognise the victim-survivor’s strength in coming forward and disclosing Hamilton-Forbes’ history and behaviour to our officers when she made that call on 7 August,” said PC Savage from the Eastern Domestic Abuse Team.

“Controlling and coercive behaviour is used to exert power and control over another person’s daily life. It often involves tactics like isolation and intimidation and can have a significant impact on a victim-survivor’s physical and mental wellbeing.

“I would urge anyone who recognises some of these patterns to report it to police. You will be supported and listened to from the start.”
