DJ Faces Police Investigation After Posting Disturbing Video on Social Media

A DJ is under investigation by the police after posting a disturbing video on social media. The video, which has sparked outrage, shows the DJ urinating on an elderly man at a local club. The incident occurred on Boxing Day at the Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club, and it has since garnered significant attention on various social media platforms.

The DJ in question, identified as Leigh Brookfield, 40, posted the video on Snapchat, where it was subsequently widely shared on Facebook. The video depicts Mr Brookfield urinating on an elderly man while the two are standing at the urinals. During the video, the elderly man discusses his serious health issues, to which Mr. Brookfield responds, “Sorry to hear that bud.

In response to the video’s circulation, local authorities have launched an investigation. A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that they have received reports of an alleged “assault” after the video surfaced on social media. The incident is said to have taken place at Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club on Boxing Day.

Mr. Brookfield has expressed deep remorse for his actions and issued a public apology on Facebook. He stated, “I’m deeply sorry. It’s just something me and the boys do when we are drunk, and until watching the video back, I didn’t realize that the nice gentleman next to me was going through health problems.” He also revealed that he was “absolutely paralytically drunk” when the incident occurred and could not remember most of it.

Describing the incident as inexcusable, Mr. Brookfield added, “My actions were inexcusable. I’ve seen the video, and I’m disgusted with myself. My hand on my heart, I was not aware of what the gentleman was saying to me. I was crying watching what I did.”

Mr Brookfield, who has been a familiar face in Llanelli venues for approximately 15 years, had been socialising at the club, celebrating what was supposed to be his final night out before his partner gave birth in early 2024.

After the video started circulating on Facebook, Mr. Brookfield moved to a nearby Wetherspoon pub, where he encountered individuals who confronted him about the video. He stated, “I went outside to watch it, and I was like, ‘Jesus Christ.'”

Despite the potential impact on his career as a DJ, with one local bar, Stamps, already cancelling an appearance by him, Mr Brookfield expressed that his priority is to apologize to the elderly man and his family. He intends to contact the victim and offer to compensate for the damaged clothing.

Mr. Brookfield concluded, “I feel so sorry for him and his family. I know if it was my grandfather or father, I would be horrified. I wish I could turn back the clock. I hope the family can forgive me.”

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities, quoting reference number 23001325754. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity, Crimestoppers, at 0800 555111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.
