A general emergency was declared on an easyJet flight shortly after its departure from London Gatwick Airport on July 3rd. The flight, EZY38QH/U28565, was en route to Dalaman, Türkiye when the crew transmitted a 7700 squawk, the aviation code for general emergencies.

The Airbus A321 aircraft, with an unspecified number of passengers on board, was still in its climb phase when the emergency was declared. The pilots swiftly turned around and headed back to London Gatwick, where the plane made a safe landing.

The specific nature of the emergency remains unclear but reports suggest that the incident might have been a medical emergency on board the aircraft. easyJet has not yet officially confirmed these claims.
